Game Shooting and Administration Manager

 

E.J. Churchill is looking to recruit a new Game shooting and Administration Manager to join our reputable and award-winning business based in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire.  

We are looking for a dynamic and energetic candidate with a huge passion for the shooting industry along with outstanding customer service and always looking to go above and beyond to exceed clients’ expectations. 

Experience in sales is desirable, along with commercial & business acumen, enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and thrives being a team player and who has a keen eye for detail!

 

A full, clean driving licence is required. (due to location & travel for work).

Most important skills required from the Game Shooting and Administration Manager

    • Engaging personality

    • Previous experience of sales admin and managing the sales process from start to finish

    • Extremely organised with the ability to deliver world class customer service

    • Creative and the ability to work to own initiatives

    • Ideally previous experience dealing with high end customers who expect exceptional service and                            organisation.

 

Main duties of the Game Shooting and Administration Manager

    • Provide support to the sporting department whilst reporting to the Sporting Manager

    • Overseeing and assisting the sporting agent in the High Wycombe office ensuring attention to deal is being            implemented at every stage of the sales process and sporting admin. 

    • Hosting shoot days in the field throughout the season both in the U.K. and Abroad, whilst ensuring the                    safety and welfare of everyone on the day and client’s expectations are been exceeded at every opportunity. 

    • Dealing with high end customers 

    • Assist with additional department requirements – Loading, caddy rounds, simulated days and sporting events          at the ground

    • Overseeing the sales process and days shooting you are hosting from start to finish

    • Prepare all relevant paperwork for the days shooting whilst keeping all both client and members of the                  department informed. 

    • Client communication is essential from the initial enquiry till they depart at the end of the days shooting.

    • Upselling of additional E.J. Churchill services – Cartridges, Gun Hire, clothing etc

    • Managing sporting season diary

    • Fully coordinate the days shooting you are hosting.

    • Provide clear communication between all departments 

    • Represent the company in a professional manner at all times. If you are wearing an E.J. Churchill garment                you are on parade, and the face of the company. 

 

 

Requirements from the ideal Game Shooting and Administration Manager

    • Clear communication skills (written and verbal), and thrive from customer interfacing and customer service 

    • Previous experience of managing sales from start to finish 

    • Passion for outdoors and sports (ideally shooting)

    • High level of skills re: Microsoft Office, administration, IT 

    • Ability to think on your feet and use your initiative

    • Enjoy learning new things and can quickly adapt when things change

    • Natural at building rapport 

    • Attention to detail and highly organised

    • Stay focused and ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines

    • Problem solving skills and finding creative solutions to challenges

    • Patient, energetic, level headed, team player and stay calm under pressure

             

 

Basic Salary £24-28k per annum based on experience, plus a performance related bonus scheme to be discussed.

Gunroom Administrative Assistant

E.J. Churchill are looking to recruit a full-time administrative assistant to work in the gunroom at our shooting ground in Buckinghamshire. E.J. Churchill is one of the finest facilities of its kind in the UK and provides shooting experiences for circa 50,000 annual visitors.

We are recruiting within our gun shop for an enthusiastic individual who has a love and passion for shooting. Our gunroom houses some of the finest shotguns and rifles in the country and is a very fast paced growing environment to work in. We are looking for someone with a personality to match this.

 

The successful candidate will:

  • Manage the Service and Repairs operation ensuring high levels of service, scheduling and administration

  • Provide outstanding customer service and delivering “The E.J. Churchill Experience” to include the tracking and reporting of all aftersales processes

  • To include the selling and promoting of our Service, Repair and storage business

  • To assist in the promotion and administration of our services

  • Assist and cover the shop floor in the day-to-day operations to include working Saturdays

  • Integral part of the Gun Sales Team to ensure all company systems and procedures are followed accurately

  • Work directly with the Aftersales Manager to continue to improve and streamline the Service and Repairs process

  • Act as a key point of contact for clients to provide them with clear and timely communication on behalf of the Gun Sales Team

  • Proactively increase the Service, Repair and Storage revenues

  • Work with the Gun room manager to improve the profile of the EJ Churchill shotgun range

  • Work with the Gunroom Manager to improve, source and expand our gunroom collection

  • Day-to-day gun room operations to include client-greeting, the taking in and releasing of guns, cartridge order maintenance and sales, care and upkeep of storage guns and general assistance in the packing and despatch of guns

If you have what it takes to be the face of E.J. Churchill and leave a lasting impression on our clients, then we want to hear from you. Please note, this role will require you to work some Saturdays and a driving license is required. This role is 8:30 - 17:30, 5 days a week with working days Monday - Saturday. The role will include 28 days holiday/annum. A 3-month probationary period will be put in place for the successful candidate and full in-house training will be provided.

Marketing Manager

We are currently recruiting for an experienced and passionate Marketing Manager to drive the E.J. Churchill marketing initiative and brand presence.


The successful applicant will be responsible for managing the company's marketing initiatives using market research and analysis to direct marketing strategy and planning. They will also oversee the production of all promotional materials and marketing campaigns from the Digital Marketing & Design Coordinator.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Identify new marketing opportunities both print and online

  • Drive and grow E.J. Churchill online presence

  • Create and manage a strong social media plan for both E.J. Churchill sites

  • Assist with increasing footfall of the day to day business

  • Implement a strong marketing strategy for the Country Clothing Store to assist with sales

  • Monitoring and making sure brand identity is always clearly defined and represented correctly

  • Ensuring the marketing message is consistent throughout all messages, internally and externally

  • Pick up work load in absence of Digital Marketing & Design Coordinator, manage company website, social media, email campaigns, print deadlines etc.

  • Fully manage and maintain online shop

  • Ensure that product imagery and descriptions are live the online shop

  • Create discount and promotional codes on the online shop

 

Knowledge & Skills

 

  • Strong leadership skills

  • The ability to think outside the box

  • Experience using email marketing software, preferably Mailchimp

  • Proficient use of social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Google)

  • Experience of using Wordpress

  • A knowledge of Adobe Suite, in particular InDesign, Photoshop & Illustrator would be advantageous

Groundsperson (High Wycombe)

We are currently recruiting a Grounds Person to join the team at E.J. Churchill, High Wycombe.
2023 is shaping up to be an incredible year for the E.J Churchill grounds team, who will play a pivotal role in this year’s World English Sporting Championships July, The Game Fair at Ragley Hall, as well as a host of other large charity shoot days here and around the country.


As a member of the E.J. Churchill grounds team you will play an essential role in the development of the ground, improving its aesthetic value to the company and ensuring traps are kept full of clays and operational at all times. The ground staff are required to carry out work off site and on other estates and other areas of the E.J. Churchill group.


Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: From £19,000.00 – £24,000.00 /year depending on experience.

Groundsperson (Swinton Estate)

E.J. Churchill at the Swinton Estate are currently recruiting a Grounds Person to assist with the development of the grounds to improve their aesthetic value to the company. The ground staff play a central role in ensuring traps are kept full of clays and operational at all times. The ground staff are required to carry out work off site and on other estates and other areas of the E.J. Churchill group. It is expected that the ground staff will become a recognised expert in the maintenance and installation of traps and layout design. A valid UK driving license is essential.

Salary: £18,000.00-£23,000.00 per year
