Finance Assistant - Purchase Ledger

We are currently recruiting for an experienced and passionate Finance Assistant (Purchase Ledger).

The successful applicant will be responsible for the day to day running of the Purchase Ledger and all associated duties.

Days of work: Monday – Friday

Key Responsibilities

  • Matching, checking and coding invoices (and credit notes)

  • Working out VAT payments

  • Data entry on bespoke accounts package

  • Liaising with managers to ensure prompt payment of invoices

  • Making payments via BACS

  • Processing staff expenses and credit cards

  • Setting up of new supplier accounts and maintaining existing account details

  • Reconciliation of supplier statements

  • Filing invoices

  • Managing petty cash

  • Being first point of contact for all relevant enquiries from suppliers

  • Maintaining strong relationships with customers and suppliers

  • Create company reports

  • Reviewing systems and processes and making improvements where necessary

 

Knowledge & Skills 

  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Solid team working skills – a “can do” attitude

  • Self-disciplined and efficient, with a flexible and proactive nature

  • Experienced in Excel and Microsoft office packages

  • Knowledge of software packages such as SAGE and BACS

  • Demonstrable experience of bookkeeping

  • Ability to work to deadlines and under pressure whilst maintaining a professional etiquette.

 

In a small but fast paced environment you will have the ability to multitask, will have great attention to detail, be a team player and keep a positive demeanour.

This a fantastic opportunity for an experienced finance assistant to join a vibrant and dynamic team at a very exciting time for the business. This position is Monday – Friday and a driving license is required.

Salary £25k-30k (DOE)

Front of House Receptionist

We have a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic and hardworking individual with a positive demeanour to work on a busy and varied reception and be the face of E.J. Churchill, an award winning clay shooting ground. The ideal candidate will be a team player, who will be able to work well under pressure and enjoys being around people in a client-facing environment.

Days of work: Monday - Friday (with weekend availability)

Key Responsibilities

  • Answering enquiries via telephone and email

  • Booking of lessons and tuition

  • Organisation of all CPSA competitions

  • Assisting with events and competitions

  • Booking of external staff

  • Late night shooting (Summer only)

  • Driving Membership sales

  • Food and beverage orders

  • Cashing up of tills

  • Processing vouchers

  • Invoicing

  • Processing payments

  • Keeping Reception and bar area clean and presentable

  • Ensuring bar snacks, drinks and food are ordered in timely manner

Knowledge & Skills

  • Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal

  • Ability to multi-task

  • Be able to work well under pressure

  • Outstanding customer service etiquette

  • 1 year of front of house reception experience would be preferred

Retail Manager

We are looking to recruit a new Retail Manager for our Country store & online shop. You must be someone who has what it takes to deliver the very best in quality and service to our growing customer base and retail offering. In our busy fast paced business, you must be able achieve sales target’s and profit margins whilst maintaining the highest standards in presentation, stock management and customer service. You will join an experienced team that strives to ensure the best all round experience for our members and visitors alike.

You will need to display good attention to detail and an understanding of the shooting/country clothing industry would be advantageous. The ability to harness our administration processes and be motivated by our plans for future growth would also be important. This position offers scope for future development and progression and is a great opportunity for someone who is looking to take on a more senior position within retail.

Key Responsibilities

  • A passionate & driven Retail manager, delivering excellent service in our stunning shop

  • Managing sales targets to increase sales and improve margin where possible

  • Manage and process all online orders

  • Ensuring that all products imagery and descriptions are on file for brands stocked

  • Efficient management of stock, pricing and ordering of replacement stock

  • Analysing sales figures and forecasting future sales volumes to maximize profits

  • Ensuring standards for quality and customer service

  • Analysing and interpreting sales trends

  • Responding to customer needs

  • Support the marketing department promoting E.J. Churchill as a brand

  • Organising special promotions, displays and events both on and off site

  • Maintaining awareness of market trends in the retail industry

  • Understanding forthcoming customer initiatives and monitoring local competitors

  • Initiating changes to improve the business

  • Working closely and maintaining good supplier relationships
