Enjoy a full day of shooting a varied and challenging range of simulated targets on some of the UK’s most famous game shooting drives.
A Simulated Game Day gives you all the excitement of a traditional game day, even out of season. These days are growing in popularity, offering a fun, accessible experience for both new and experienced shooters.
Typically held between February and July, they provide fantastic summer sport while helping shooters keep their skills sharp for the upcoming season.
Arrival
On arrival at E.J. Churchill Shooting Ground, guests are welcomed with a hearty breakfast served alongside freshly brewed tea and coffee.
It’s a chance to settle in, meet fellow guests, and soak up the atmosphere before the day begins.
Once everyone is gathered, our team will deliver a full safety talk and outline the schedule, ensuring all guests are ready and confident for the shooting ahead.
Two Drives
With pegs drawn, guests are taken to the first drive to begin the morning’s shooting.
Over the next two drives, expect a variety of sporting targets designed to challenge and entertain, with each drive offering something different to keep the excitement high.
Elevenses
Mid-morning we pause for elevenses, served out in the field.
Hot tea and coffee are brought to the line with a selection of pastries, bacon rolls and light, seasonal snacks.
It’s a short, relaxed break to refuel, swap a few stories and enjoy the surroundings before the next drive.
Final Drives
The day builds to an exciting finish as guests take on the third and fourth drives.
Expect a mix of fast, testing targets and satisfying shots that showcase the best of the shoot, leaving everyone on a high before heading in for well-earned late-lunch.
Lunch
After the final shots are fired, guests return to the lodge for a relaxed two-course lunch. It’s the perfect time to swap stories from the day, enjoy good food and company, and unwind in comfort.
Depart at your own pace, taking with you great memories and maybe a few new friendships.

Seat of the Dashwood family for over 300 years, the estate is less than an hour’s drive from London and is situated in the rolling Chiltern Hills, making it easily accessible and able to offer challenging and varied targets.
Guests meet at E.J. Churchill Shooting Ground or Fryers Farm Barn, a beautiful 17th Century half timbered shoot lodge at the centre of the estate, and will then go on to shoot four drives during the day.
The West Wycombe Estate game shoot is regularly listed in The Field Magazine’s list of “top shoots”, fantastic catering and hospitality is also provided and tailor made Simulated Game Days are available on request, making this an unbeatable day out.

The Swinton Estate
The Swinton Estate, near Masham in North Yorkshire, is one of England’s largest privately owned estates, spanning over 20,000 acres from the River Ure in Wensleydale to the moors.
Owned by the Cunliffe-Lister family since the 1880s, the estate includes Swinton Park, a 32-room castle hotel, Swinton Cookery School, the adjacent Country Club & Spa, and Swinton Bivouac, a tree lodge and glamping retreat.
