SportFest is all about giving children aged 5 to 16 the chance to discover the enjoyment and fulfilment sport can bring and to inspire the next generation. The brainchild of rugby legends Will Greenwood and Austin Healey, SportFest provides a unique opportunity for children to learn new skills and sports and best of all be inspired by true sporting legends.
The event took place on the first weekend in August at Wormsley, The Getty Family Estate in Buckinghamshire, renowned as one of the most beautiful cricket pitches in the world which every year sees some of the world’s best sports stars perform. A fitting location for this annual family sporting festival.
E.J. Churchill were excited to play a part in supporting this year’s event offering families the chance to try clay pigeon shooting. This is the first time shooting has been offered at a sports festival and the uptake was incredible, selling out in just 15 minutes for the both days.
Sunday was the highlight which saw Will Greenwood and Austin Healey go head to head in a shoot off with E.J. Churchill’s Managing Director, Rob Fenwick and Head Gamekeeper for Sir Edward Dashwood, Dave Swallow.
Rob, teamed with Austin and Dave with Will battled it out in a 40 bird clash of the clays – the title going to Rob and Austin with only a one point lead!
