The Game & Wildlife Conservation Trust (formerly the Game Conservancy Trust) is pleased to offer discounted membership to E.J. Churchill’s members.
The link between fieldsports (game shooting in particular) and conservation is very strong and the GWCT is unique in its approach using science to prove the huge benefit that land managed for game brings to our wildlife.
For over 80 years the Trust has used science to find sensible solutions to the effect that loss of habitat and an increase in predators has had on our game and wildlife. The scope of this research is immense, countering the decline of wild game, farmland birds, black grouse, mountain hares, water voles, wild salmon and a mass of other species native to Britain. It includes analysis of game bag records going back 200 years to identify trends in populations, and it is currently tracking woodcock as they return to breed in Siberia and Scandinavia to establish the health of the habitat in their breeding grounds.
In the words of the trusts patron, HRH the Duke of Edinburgh:
“The Trust is the primary source of knowledge and advice on the welfare of game and wildlife in the countryside, in this it has been conspicuously successful and deserves all the support it can get.”
We hope you will consider supporting this long established charity.
E.J. Churchill members may join at the discounted rate of £48 a year (down from £60).
Your membership fee counts as a charitable donation for Gift Aid purposes.
