The Classic

The Classic 2013, Wednesday 5th – Saturday 8th June

The Classic has now concluded for 2013. Labelled as the best Clay Shooting Classic yet, we witnessed some class clay shooting performances from start to finish. The course was built by world champion Ben Husthwaite and provided competitors with challenging targets that tested even the most experienced shot, but the final score that took the high gun title for 2013 was 144/150 shot by Mark Winser. The Clay Shooting Classic 2013

The 21st Clay Shooting Classic hosted by E. J. Churchill is set to be a spectacular event with a £35,000 prize fund and a wide array of sponsorship from the shooting industry’s leading brands including Zoli, Promatic, Eley Hawk and prestigious watch manufacturer Bremont.

The Classic is the largest independent sporting shoot in Europe and will take place from 5th-8th June. The competition will be run in the grounds of E.J.Churchill and the 5,000 acre West Wycombe Estate. There will be two 75-bird courses with targets that offer something for eveyone. This year a new category has been introduced for all competitors shooting with a Side by Side gun, for which the winner will receive a stunning Bremont BC-S2 watch worth £2,495. So if you’re shooting with a Side by Side, make sure you let us know when entering so you can be included in this class.

As a new feature for 2013, there will be an incentive for shooters using fibre wads – £5 cashback! The clean up job after the event is on a mass scale and this extra incentive has been brought in to ease the burden on ground staff.
The first day of the competition will see members of the armed forces and emergency services battle it out for top spot to win medals and cartridge prizes courtesy of Eley Hawk. The Club Team Classic will be a new feature for this year, giving club teams of three a chance to win a simulated game day from E.J.Churchill and a Promatic trap worth £1,200 for their club.
Top shots will be competing for thousands of pounds worth of prizes from guns to cartridges in the main event kicking off on Thursday 6th June.
