About E.J.Churchill Shooting Ground
Set amidst 40 acres of woodland on the stunning West Wycombe Estate, the shooting ground comprises over 100 clay shooting stands and 6 clay shooting disciplines offering varied and extensive practice and tuition opportunities. Our layouts include three high towers, skeet, multisport and purpose built grouse butts.
Our dedicated team of instructors are trained to the highest standards and are amongst the most experienced in the country. We offer instruction for novice through to experienced game and clay shooters both at the shooting ground and in the field.
We are passionate about making shooting accessible to all, and encourage everyone to come and have a go. Our Young Guns Academy runs throughout the school holidays enabling young shots aged 9-18 to have a go at shooting, meet new people and have fun.
With shooting becoming an increasingly popular sport amongst the ladies, we hold a number of exclusive ladies shooting days where like-minded individuals can meet and experience the thrill of shooting clays. We have been nominated as the favourite meet for the Shotgun and Chelsea Bun Club who meet with us three times a year. Their next visit will be on Saturday 26th July 2014 for a day of shooting and cake. Get involved!
During the summer months we are open for late night shooting until 8pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays from Wednesday 9th April through to October (light depending). Make the most of the long evenings and take the chance to stop by on your way home from work to practice skeet and compak sequences.
Get your eye in for the new game season with our grouse shooting practice packages. You will have exclusive use of our extensive simulated grouse butts and with a variety of packages to choose from, our team of world class instructors will give you all the help and advice you need to prepare you for your first day back on the moor.
We also hold registered CPSA shoots on the first Thursday of every month with a new and challenging course every time set over 12 stands – £39.50 for the competition and £34.50 for birds only. Entries taken 10am-2pm during the winter months. No advanced booking necessary. Please note the may CPSA Registered Shoot will take place a week later than normal on Thursday 8th May. This is due to the World English Sporting Championship taking place at E.J.Churchill Shooting Ground.
We host a number of events from charity fundraisers to clay shooting competitions throughout the year that we encourage everyone to get involved with, including the Churchill Challenge, our annual 100 ESP competition that runs from January to March. It is a fun competition with a varied and challenging course, and at only £38 to enter it is a great way to shoot clays in a competitive environment.
