Ptarmigan: not a tricky bird

The ptarmigan found in Iceland are slightly different from those in the UK. Although they live predominantly in the hills, in Iceland they can be found at sea level too, and we even saw some within the city limits of Reykjavik while those in Scotland exist only at high altitudes, almost exclusively at over 2,000ft.
