Hungary is a Country of contrast with its mountainous area in the north-west and the flat plains of the east which rolls towards the Romanian border.
Despite a previously poor reputation for high volume low flying pheasants, there are infact many fantastic sporting opportunities within this land and we are delighted to offer the following:-
- Flighted Duck shooting in the centre of the Hortobagy reserve
- Walked up Pheasant shooting over pointers or spaniels
- Driven or stalked Wild Boar shooting
- Fantastic trophy Red Stags
- More specialist activities for smaller parties including the chance to shoot Woodcock in April
We have centered our main operation in the Hortobagy area, some two hours' drive to the east of Budapest. Here we have been privileged to be offered the chance to shoot some of the fantastic marshes found in this region. It is easy to add on a day's walked up pheasant shooting or even driven pheasant shooting if the client requires.
The Country lies in the Carpathian basin in the heart of Europe and is rightly famous for the variety of sport available, the high quality Hunting Lodges and the skilled local staff. All parties are accompanied by English speaking hosts.
Hunting in Hungary is a fantastic and unique experience. The hunting tradition is a very important part of Hungarian culture. At the end of the hunting day, fires are lit and tables are laid before the results of the day are announced to the sound of horns being blown and traditional speeches of thanks by the hunter's leader.
