Events Manager

E.J. Churchill’s sister company, West Wycombe Corporate Entertainment, has a wonderful opportunity for the right person seeking work in the corporate and private events industry. We would like to welcome a bright, enthusiastic, energetic, highly organised and polite individual to manage and motivate the events office.

An individual with confidence, who enjoys or has an interest in outdoor activities, will find this position challenging and rewarding. A key area is to build client relationships, drive a business forward and really make a difference. An individual with the ability to lead a team and deliver seamless events, a real completer finisher.

The job is diverse and all your skills will be called upon so we need someone who can stay calm under pressure and who enjoys maximising the conversions or enquiries to bookings. You will be required to build the customer database, meet new people, and you must have a flair for turning your hand to multi-tasking.

You will need to be computer literate and be available to work 5 days a week including some late evenings and some weekends.

Salary: £25,000-£30,000 pa depending on experience.

Senior Groundsman

To manage and develop the ground to continually improve their aesthetic value to the company. The ground staff play a central role in ensuring traps are kept full of clays and are operational at all times. The ground staff are requested to carry out work off site and on other estates and other areas of the E.J. Churchill Group. It is expected that the ground staff will become a recognised expert in the maintenance and installation of traps and layout design. This is a full time position that will require cover on a 5 day basis to include some weekends and evenings.

Main duties and tasks:

– To manage, supervise and delegate the workload to the ground staff, this is including Health & Safety and Welfare
– To effectively plan and communicate with other relevant departments to ensure events run to schedule and without delay
– The opening, setting up and filling of traps on a daily basis
– The setting up of new trap layouts, charity shoots and competitions
– General maintenance and repairs to existing traps
– To keep all areas of the ground free from excessive wadding and shatter
– To maintain trees, shrubs, roads, paths and gardens immaculately year round
– To assist in setting up of corporate events other than shooting
– Accountable for maintaining stock levels and ordering of the grounds supplies as necessary
– To carry out general maintenance around the lodge as required  and any other duties that are within the capacity of the employee and necessary for the company to operate efficiently
– Grass maintenance with additional assistance
